The Dance 03:50
You dance around me in circles You hold a glass that magnifies my soul You say that you know what is best Said you put your life to the test And you Can't believe in what I do Cannot see it's something good Oh oh oh You swing me with your weary arms This old move that I'll miss when you're gone And I love you so much And you love me so much But we see beyond love And you Can't believe in what I do Cannot see it's something good Oh oh oh And you Can't believe in what I say When I say That I can be good I can be good I can be good I can make you proud La la la

about

A young girl woke up one day and it suddenly occurred to her how asleep she had been for most of her life. She felt a strong need to do something very different with her life, to be brave and to make some tough choices in order to really live her life fully. So she decided to say, "Eff this bullshiZzz!!" and decided to follow her heart and be true no matter what. Regardless of whether she became poor, looked down upon, or single for the rest of her life, she determined to have a few goals-- make good music, connect with all different kinds of people, love fully, and live authentically, encouraging others to do so too. She started out playing solo acoustic music at different open mic nights and sandwich shops and sushi restaurants. She eventually started to get her own shows little by little.

Along the way, she met an extremely talented drummer who also happened to be quite the music composer. His daily activities usually involve private teaching 40+ different drum students, playing shows for different artists, and attending shows, sometimes four within the same night. Their friendship grew and during their talks, they both felt the same about living authentically. She acknowledged that he could be doing something more lucrative with his intelligence, dedication, and skill, but he had decided a while ago that he just needed to follow an outward-seemingly irrational calling to make music, and to make the best kind. It kind of made perfect sense to the two of them.

"So, do you wanna, like, make a band?"
"K."

During this exciting time, the drummer also happened to be friends with an electric guitarist and creative artist who had put out his masterpiece, the self-titled A Paper Mache Monster, a few years back. He stopped working on any projects and became engaged when the drummer decided to nudge this artist about possibly joining in on the project. Jumping at the chance of working on music with this particular drummer, he dived in completely, being a driving force to help move things along, creating ideas, and teaching the young girl a lot of things with all his experience and wisdom when it came to making and performing music.

Having formed in the later winter of 2009, the three piece have worked together to compose and arrange songs together. Amidst the bustling of trying to make a modest living, juggling time spent with family and friends, and taking on other responsibilities, the three are united in a common effort to just make some good, real music.

Prior to meeting the guys, the young girl debuted her first short album, 'Outline of a Cloud' at IOTA Club & Cafe on August 31, 2009. It received some warm reviews:

"Soothing, sultry, and sophisticated, Techniquelle's debut album 'Outline of a Cloud,' marks a confident effort by young singer-songwriter Joanne Kim... A strong debut from a promising artist" (On Tap Magazine, January 2010 On The Verge Artists issue).
